Farewell for now, FGAC

It feels like we’re leaving a family behind. Sunday was our last (for now) EcoSwim clinic at the beautiful Forest Grove Aquatic Center. While the facility takes a 3-month break from the public to further beautify itself, we will shift over to a different pool not too far away. Looking back on the past few sessions, I couldn’t be prouder of the families and our volunteers, all of them taking steps one by one to reach new levels of comfort and joy in the water. Siblings found their footing on paddle boards, practicing accidental immersions and careful recovery, helping each other. One little one on the day of her birthday proudly announced “I floated on my back all by myself!” Then in the next session she braved the diving board, taking a very big leap of faith in herself and the water and the people all around her. FGAC has become a welcome home for Team WaterStrong. We will miss being there for now, and we’ll be back again very soon. THANK YOU for providing the space for so many families to learn, grow, and trust the water little by little.
